Embodied Spirituality:
Connecting to Our Body
Wednesday, May 31, 2023
Virtual via Zoom
10am-12:30pm PT
Why is the word embodiment so popular today?
How does embodiment relate to your spirituality?
Our culture often tells us to ignore or control our body. Yet our body is our main means of experiencing all of life!
We are born as bodies. From our very beginning, we explore our environments with our bodies. This is how we relate to ourselves and others. As we grow, we adapt to our family and the cultures around us. We learn how to perform to ‘fit in.’ We become disengaged from our body, disembodied. We lose this vital authentic relationship with ourselves and others.
Thankfully, we can learn to be open with our body again, connecting with who we have been created to be. Ultimately, learning to embrace our body, embodiment, is about relationship. We are invited to find comfort, healing, and deep Love, along the way.
In this 2.5 hour virtual experience, we will explore the many aspects of being with and present to our body. What does it mean to be present to yourself? To Others? Through reading, discussion, facilitated practices, journaling and a closing ritual, we’ll open space to experience ourselves, God and others. Bring your curiosity and compassion to this experiential workshop to continue to journey toward embodiment.
